Poker is a card game where players try to form the best possible hand in order to win the pot at the end of each round. When you are in early position (EP) or middle position (MP) at the table, you have an advantage over your opponents because you can see their actions before they commit to a hand. Generally, you should open only strong hands when in EP or MP.

You must also learn to recognize and take advantage of your opponent’s mistakes in poker. For example, many players will check with weak hands in heads-up pots and then fold if faced with multiple bets. This is a mistake that you can capitalize on by aggressively bluffing with your strong hands and taking advantage of their misplays. This is an important part of poker strategy and will lead to more consistent winnings in the long run.
